The Mafra Music Festival “Filipe de Sousa” brings music to a variety of heritage venues in Mafra and Ericeira, promoting musical creation and performance while honouring the memory and cultural legacy of Filipe de Sousa. Its 10th edition focuses on dialogue between different generations of performers, repertoires and instruments: starting with concerts devoted to the cello and piano, piano recitals by young international prizewinners and an opera evening with young singers, and culminating in a performance of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
