Discovering, promoting and celebrating the new voices of international opera singing.
The mission of Cascais Ópera – International Singing Competition is to discover, promote and celebrate young opera singing talent from all over the world.
Open to singers aged between 18 and 32, the competition welcomes all voice types and receives applications from singers of many nationalities, establishing itself as an international platform for meeting, learning and artistic exposure.
The competition brings together leading artists and figures from the international opera scene, giving competitors the opportunity to perform before a jury of great artistic prestige. In addition to cash prizes, it creates concrete professional opportunities by awarding contracts with theatres, festivals and cultural institutions.
Launched in 2024, Cascais Ópera has become an established meeting point between young singers and professionals from several countries, including international singers, opera house directors and international festival directors.
Beyond the public rounds and concerts, the competition stands out for its strong educational dimension, offering masterclasses, artistic mentoring and individual feedback from the members of the jury.
More than a competition, Cascais Ópera fosters new audiences, the international circulation of talent and the cultural promotion of Portugal, bringing together training, artistic excellence and international exposure.
Cascais Ópera receives operational support and strategic consultancy from Décima Colina, a company specialising in cultural management and artistic production with more than 30 years of experience.
This collaboration covers planning, partnership development and financial structuring, and the organisation and monitoring of production, helping to consolidate the competition’s organisational model and to implement good cultural management practices.
The close coordination between the two organisations strengthens the project’s capacity to deliver and ensures the continuity and quality of its activities.
A track record of growth and international recognition.
